what do you think about plastic surgery? is it better to be natural or a bit altered? is it worth some of the risks?

I personally don't need plastic surgery because I like the way I look. That's all that matters. As for other people, people can choose surgery if they want, but I don't think it's necessary.

I think plastic surgery is kinda silly. It's basically taking a knife to your skin in the pursuit of "greater" acceptance by those around you. So, in that sense, I'd say it's better to be natural. Then again, we do other superficial shit everyday for that very same purpose (i.e., hair, make up, clothes, etc.) and plastic surgery is just one extreme of this so I can't really say it's necessarily a bad thing. I wouldn't do it though.

was trying to show you guys some images i had of these korean girls before and after plastic surgery and it is a majorly drastic difference. however, i can't seem to upload the images but they are jaw-dropping.

i think most women are somewhat vain. i include myself in this but somehow i wouldn't want to look in the mirror and know that's not my face.

i'm not against small procedures tho...ie. botox injections, lipo for those who need it, and good breast augmentation jobs. :D

I'm sure that with a bit of airbrushing, hairstyling, applying of make-up, and lighting maneuvers, anyone would look more glowing and flawless. I think these people are beautiful whether they're in their before or after pictures. What they've evolved into is what they think defines beauty (in a more Western context). The arches on their noses are all higher, their eyes are wider, their hair's dyed lighter. Granted, I've highlighted my hair because I needed a change, but I don't need to highlight my hair all the time. I actually bounced from black to brown highlights and back to black again. Each phase lasted more than a year because my hair needed to grow out and trimmed. Anyway, my eyes are naturally bigger, and my attire is Americanized, but SO WHAT?! These features don't make me feel that I'm better or lesser of a person than the next woman with smaller eyes or bigger boobs, darker skin or taller stature. It's a matter of accepting one's self. Of course, society may think otherwise, and you know what they say, people see power in numbers, but that's the problem-- society's definition of beauty and how it affects people out there who want approval/praise from an external source. I wouldn't feel the need to "belong" anywhere if I altered my nose or augmented my boobs. it's a matter of self-esteem. If someone has to go through surgery to buy their self-esteem, they can do whatever they want, but I prefer to pay nothing for it when I have self-esteem in the convenience of my mind.

Wow really really good plastic surgeon or a plastic surgeon with a really good make up and wardrobe entourage.

The second one from the bottom looks surreal, kinda like a porcelain doll.

In all fairness, was this an ad for a plastic surgeon?

Wonder if it's painful for them to smile with the amount of botox injections they probably needed <_< j/k.

actually some of those just look like younger+no makeup+normal lighting versus older+makeup+great lighting.

If plastic surgery will help lift someone's self worth, then I think it's ok. For example, someone who looks different for whatever reason, from everyone else-- If she's being taunted for her looks and she wants to alter them so she's not mistreated in the same ways, I think it's acceptable and understandable. If it's going to be the key for you to be able to function normally in society, I'm all for it.

You can take this from many different viewpoints, but when you sum it up, it's basically:
1) No, it's not okay. It's so fake.
2) I guess it's okay for some people, but only under certain circumstances.
3) Yes, I'm all for plastic surgery. If you want it, and you can pay for it, why not?

i don't know who i should be shaking my head at... the men who must have virgin brides, or the women who actually have that surgery to deceive their men...

i'm confused... would you date a virgin male?

and if you were marrying someone you did not have sex with, how would you really know if he's a virgin until wedding night?

Wow! Those pictures were definetly a major change. To be honest, I have thought about getting plastic surgery. I wanted bigger rounder eyes! My mom, brother, grandma and grandpa had these beautiful big round eyes! I wanted them too. That was until I turned nine. But now I'm happy with the way I look. I like the feeling of looking in the mirror and knowwing that I'm looking at myself with confidence. Rather than looking at a image of what I think is pretty that was not me to begin with. Besides having almond shaped eyes are beautiful too.

ok... then how would you know if a guy is a virgin before you decide to date him? i mean i suppose you could always ask, but that's not exactly a usual topic of conversation between two people who are on the verge of dating.

Sure, we can sit here and argue things like, "if it makes the girl feel better about herself" or whatever but what it boils down to with Asians getting plastic surgery is that they want to look WHITE. Of course, they all deny it and say things like, "i think girls look better with bigger eyes," but what they're really saying, whether they're aware of it or not, is "I think white people are better looking than Asian people." Which is bullshit. I mean, who has big eyes, prominent noses, cheekbones, etc? White people.

Doesn't all this self hate make anyone else really angry?

I was in Seoul for six months and it was hard to find any females walking around who hadn't gotten that ridiculous double eyelid surgery. Not to mention some who had nose jobs, cheek/chin shaving, and god only knows what else.

I don't think plastic surgery is intrinsically wrong. White people do it all the time and I don't give a shit. But when my asian sistahs do it because they have all this self hate inside them, that's when I get mad.

If Asians are doing it to look more like white people, who are white people trying to look more like...?
