My foray into internet dating

About a month ago, I was on my death bed with Genital Herpes and it dawned on me that I had lived a shallow life, that I should date and marry.

Anyway, I signed up for like seven different dating web sites, put up my headshot, signed up for web sites that were for females who like Asian men, etc., etc., put up a lot of sappy lines that I had heard from my 98 degrees CD collection, responding to many ads for both AF and Non AFs who I considered attractive, etc. etc.

Anyway, to make a long story short, I only had two hits. One a very attractive mixed Asian who was as shallow as they come. She was funny, cause in her profile she wrote about the fact that was humble, but when you talk to her for five seconds you know she's as arrogant as they come.

The other was a WF who thought that she was doing Asian men a favor by talking to us. She never asked anything about me but only about how great she was since she was nice enough to want to associate with Asian men.

There you have it, luckily I didn't die, but it was like being reborn, it made me realize that I had to go back to doing comedy and stop with this silly game of trying to find someone on the internet.

I know some Asian men are on some of those sites, do you guys agree with my accessment of how that female felt? BTW, that female looked like Rosie O'Donnell and I perfer my females to look like Roseanne Barr. :cool:

How is a guy supposed to relate to how the WF felt? Or are you asking if other's have had similar experiences with WF's on dating sites?

Stay away from internet dating sites period. The people who use those as a serious method in finding a partner usually have issues in the real world. I know we'll get a dozen women popping up to say "buuttt i'm normal and I use a dating site!" it's the exception trust me. Men vastly outnumber women on the internet and the women who are left end up with a camwhore mentality.

Plus online site dating is inherently fixed against asian men. For kicks I filled out that trial form for eharmony.com once and it matched me up with exactly *drumroll* 1 person who was also of asian descent. A caucasian friend of mine with the stereotypical blonde hair, (ok not so stereotypical) brown eyes got something like 50+ matches the majority were of course early 20's white and asian women. We even made sure to fill out the exact same personality bubbles. Just something to think about, heh. I'm guessing a good number of women automatically exclude asians. Not saying it's necessarily racist but that is VERY telling of the kind of stuff some of us deal with in America.

I don't know if I agree with that 100 percent. I know quite a few girls who've logged on internet dating sites just to goof around or try something new. A lot of these sites have a trial option where you can build a profile, but not subscribe to anything. And some of these girls are hot and they're cool to hang with too, they may just be a little tired of the bar scene. Also you gotta rememeber most people meet their mates 3 ways, school, work and through a friend. The bar scene is a crapshoot, not many people marry dates they picked up at a bar. The older you get the more your options dwindle, you go out less, it's harder now to meet people at work with such stringent harrassment laws, and as there are also fewer single people in your age range as you get older. Internet dating has been a nice alternative for a lot of people.
