Did your parents talk to you about puberty before you reached it or did they ignore the issue?

Ignore. I learned about it in school via stupid, stupid films and (naturally) by experience.

i learned about it in 5th grade. otherwise, my parents never said anything about it.

i got 'it' when i was 12 years old. freaked the shit out of me! i was thinking, "why am i bleeding? and down THERE???"

i told my mom and she gave me some maxi pads, saying that i'll need them about once a month.

gee... thanks mom.

hmm, my mom did talk to me about my period before it came. but that was because i was getting little signs of it's arrival beforehand. she gave me one of those "you're becoming a woman" speech. but she didn't talk about, nope, not that part.

My mother was very open about puberty and everything since I was very small, so I knew.
