Has anyone been to Ibiza? Or is anyone going this summer?
I'll be there in late August. I've heard that the crowd is mostly euros (particularly Brits), but I'm just curiously wondering if I'll still see many Asians there, for whatever it's worth. My guess is that most of them who will be there will be Asian-European, which will be an interesting sight for me (an Asian-American). But I could be wrong.
If you've got stories and recommendations, I'd love to hear them!

Ibiza -- I have'nt been there but I've heard alot about that place: drunkeness, naked dancing girls, alot of premarital sex and partying all day.
Sounds like my kind of place! :)
Too bad there's all these diseases floating around.

u guys are hilarious.
i'm sure any place where it's party 24-7 involves a lot of gratuitous sex, drugs and swapping of fluids.

I heard it's pretty wild and crazy. From time to time there was definite Asian Invasion!

Just a question: have you called anyone a 'psycho' over the internet?
????
the term is used loosely these days, and sometimes aptly.

Ibiza is the island
You probably saw "La Troya", or "foam party"
It probably took place in a club called Amnesia, but there may very well be other places that do it as well
I hope to have experienced it within two weeks from now :)

back from the trip...
Multiple boxes of free condoms were given away, but I didn't have any chances to use them. :P
With the way I stood out in the crowd, I'd probably had to be extremely charming in order to be a hit with the euro chicks, which I was not and am not. Not that I made much of an attempt.
While that would have been great, that's not why I went - I was there for the DJ's, the clubs, and the music.
There was a group of 4 Asians who were in the same tour group. Other than that, I saw only a handful at each place/event. And the ones I saw, I saw at 2-3 different events. I did see one Asian-looking girl on at least 5 different occassions - too bad I didn't get a chance to talk with her. Well, there was one event which had many more Asians that at other events I went to, but at that event (Manumission @ Privilege [a club with a capacity of 18,000, supposedly largest in the world]) , it seemed that everyone and their mother was there. Maybe there were many Asians on Ibiza at the same time, perhaps just not in the same places I was.

I know, I find it hard to believe... but I sure will believe after I see my bills! :)
About Tiesto... NO!!!
I was at Amnesia for Cream, but he was ill and didn't make it
Rui da Silva spun in his place, though for only 2 hours (instead of Tiesto's advertised 3), and Paul van Dyk started earlier and did a longer set than scheduled. Sure would have been way phat to see Tiesto and PVD back to back.
You haven't partied till you've been to Ibiza. :P
Yes it is like a clubber's mecca - all fans and followers of DJ culture should go at least once in their lives. I guess it's a bigger deal for Americans than for Europeans, who have month-long vacations and can get there within 2 hours. It probably takes 3 weeks to get a good taste of everything. If you have the funds, I'm sure you could easily spend the whole summer there. Make sure you have lots of cash to burn. And don't get married until you do go. :P
Actually there's a lot of age diversity there - there were many families at my hotel. The minimum age for clubs is 16, but granted there was never anyone questionable, I never saw anyone get carded. Apparently there are a good number of married couples, some on their honeymoon. There was one newlywed couple in my group, coming all the way from San Fran. I didn't see any honeymooners doing the all-out all-night and all-day clubbing thing, but that could have very well happened without me noticing.
For the Asian ladies that go/went, let us know how many of those euro boys approached you. I'm kinda curious about whether race matters to them. The crowd truly is international, but mostly Brits and Italians. I didn't see anyone who appeared to have come straight from Asia, but I may have missed them - except for these two at Manumission who were dressed in Japanese outfits and may have come from Japan.
