sorry, mafia people. this is totally my fault for not carefully checking all of the emails in my yw account. forgive me - i always get about 200 emails a week.
anyhow, the below email came to me about 3 weeks ago. Halloween has passed, but i would disagree if anyone believes that the issue is moot. Kung Fool was our project, so i think we have a continuing responsibility to make sure that it is never seen on the shelves again.
i asked the author of the email to forward me a copy of the letter she wrote. i also want to be sure that it is the exact same Kung Fool costume by Disguise. chances are, it is probably left over from last year. let me know if you guys have any ideas on how to proceed.

Kasie,
I have recently visited an iParty in Walpole, Massachusetts in the
Walpole Mall and had spotted the "Kung Fool" costume right in the Halloween section
on display. This happened only yesterday. I have just wrote an urgent letter
to iParty headquarters, but who knows if a response will even come. Can we do
something about it?!

I'm not sure if iParty.com is the same company as the retail outfit mentioned in the email above, but I just checked the site and nothing comes up when I search for Kung Fool. I also looked individually at the kids and adults action costumes. Didn't see Kung Fool but I did come across a plus size geisha costume. :)

probably a college guy on drugs withdrawal. That's why he's so covered up, because he's getting shivers. Stop using cocaine, covered up college guy!

back on topic, Kasie, what are the possible courses of action that YW can take?

no fair - i asked first.
j/k - well...
for now, i just want to keep a record of the stores that carried it this Halloween so that we can be prepared for next year.
we can show them our formal agreement with Disguise, Inc. and inform them of Disguise's policy of reimbursing the store for each costume if they will return them.
if the store does not comply, i suppose we can use our strategy last year. taking pictures, blacklisting the store, possible lawsuit, etc. oh yeh! i can sue people now. *evil grin*

CBS caught wind. Did anybody mention that?
'Kung Fool' Costume Enrages Asians (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/10/16/national/main525891.shtml)
...
In protest of the costume, the Asian-American news Web site Yellowworld.org started an online petition drive. "Asian-Americans don't want to be Halloween masks," said Elbert Oh, founder of the site.

So it is. Also found a reference to it in another thread.
Was doing a google search of news sites that have mentioned yellowworld.org.
Find a link to the Schnitt Show (http://www.schnittshow.com/bucktooth-halloween.html) as well.
