ya i do, i hold them for women. i think a woman shouldnt be exposed to sum of the things men do to each other.
I think a woman shouldnt be hit, shouldnt be verbally abused, shouldnt have to deal w/ the bullshit guyz do to each other bout acting hard and being tuff.
Manners wise i think i should get a womans door, chair, if its a date buy her food, treat her nice.
I think women should be cherished and protected and not exposed to rape, mens greedly lustful looks and hands, dealing w/ violence that men have a tendancy in inflicting on each other and to partners. I hate it when men call them whores, and treat them like dogs...those are my double standards.
guess im old skoo...u can ask one of the board members (name withheld) whose my ex gf ...im weird like this!

Yeah I been guilty of it, mostly because of the rumor mills generated by the people around me. As to whether it plays a factor on me wanting to date that person, nah it's really not a factor, cuz I'm not really the epitome of chastity either, so who am I to judge.
Hope I didn't open the flood gates on this matter. I wasn't gonna touch this subject.

hmm what about double standards concerning consent, etc? Like whenever a young woman has sex and gets pregnant or whatever, people jump to her side saying she didn't know what she was doing or she was pressured into it or whatever, cuz she's so young....
but if we really want to believe (as some people really DO) that people below 18 for some reason cannot make responsible sex decisions, then how can we condemn rape by underage boys? no one here, i think, is gonna say the 13 yr olds who raped the central park jogger that "they didn't know what they were doing" and shouldn't be responsible for their actions.
I think there's a double standard where ppl want to keep women "victims" but make men "villains," whereas I believe BOTH women and men teenagers and older should be considered responsible for their sexual behavior. This isn't absolute--but we were all in high school, and who can honestly say everyone we knew in hs or even most ppl can say we didn't know the consequences of sex at that time?

isnt this partly because less men than woman come forward when they were sexually harrassed or assaulted?

i dunno. i think men SHOULD take responsibility if a woman gets pregnant, but so should she. Not "no i'd rather have an abortion, give me the money for one." It's not like ONLY a man is responsible for a pregnancy.

of course not, but of course there are times when the guy DOES get off free and easy and the girl is left to be looked down upon while she waddles around with a bloated watermelon looking stomach.

Personally (and I ain't sayin' this to score brownie points) I think if you're a real man, you'll take responsibility for an unwanted pregnancy. Call me sexist, but in a very simplistic way, it starts with the man and whether he can control himself + protect himself...

i feel when it comes to pregnancy..both are responsible, since it takes two... But i feel it starts with the female.. cuz its her body... it starts with her being accepting and willing.. which is perhaps one of the reasons why i've never chosen to go all the way with a guy yet... cuz i'm not ready to take on that heavy responsibility... even with protection.. cuz thats not even 100% safe. So, while i feel that the man and the woman are both responsible when it comes to pregnancy, it starts with me consenting to the act...
