What's exotic?

So anyone who reads enough into the board archives probably knows that APA's are very wary of the word, "exotic." Understandably so, it seems, since it can be a very limiting and marginalizing term when applied to APA people.

But at the same time, I feel maybe we're just in a position where few things are really exotic. Is there is a certain look that you as APA's consider "exotic?" Is it purely a function of cultural and ethnic familiarity or is there something more to how you use the word?

Anyway, I'll use this as an excuse to post a picture of hot women to jump start things. I think all these women are pretty, but I'm not sure if I could consider them exotic.

I consider all these women really beautiful, but I don't get that "Wow... That'd be an adventure," feeling from them.

People use exotic to define someone basically that doesn't look the norm, only in an attractive manner, not unattractive. Like, "that chick looks weird", could be construed as either, "she looks weird in a bad way" or "she looks weird in a good way". You know you've seen some dude or some girl that had real unique looking faces that weren't exactly ugly, but it was just something about them that was just...hmmmm.

Exotic is anything really out there and weird and very different from what I used to........like fighting lions and tigers and shit in India..............that's exotic.
