What pisses you off more? arrogant fucks who actually do know what they're talking about but who are nevertheless, well, arrogant fucks OR stupid people who don't have a clue?

sometimes i wonder... i'm a bit of both myself so i don't know which part of me i hate more. I guess i'd hate stupid people more because god, they're just STUPID, stfu already. Arrogant smart people are more like a good opponent-- someone I need to give grudging respect to but are thoroughly dislikeable.

Hmm then again, if a person is stupid and knows it, then he's not that dislikeable.

The REALLY bad people, no brainer here, are the stupid people who think they're smart. They constantly spout out like they're the final authority and 2 seconds later are proven wrong because they're stupid fucks.

it depends on what you define as "smart".. there's a lot of intelligent "book smart" people that are completely and utterly socially inept. then there are some people that don't know anything and think they do.. but have these amazing charismatic personalities. then there's "smart" based on the idea of being wise, which comes from experience. it all depends.

"smartness" doesn't piss me off. people and how they treat me and others does. it sucks, because sometimes arrogance is mistaken. i'm confident in who i am and what i believe. i don't think i'm arrogant but given my strong personality, a lot of people mistake me for the "smart arrogant" type. maybe that's why some people i've never done anything to don't seem to care for me. *shrug*

they've only earned "the right" if they actually know what they're doing or talking about. fronters should get shot. not saying you front or anything, of course. :)

Well, nothing of this sort gets on my nerves to be perfectly honest. If I meet stupid people who pretend to be smart I just play along and let them have their fun. Likewise, if I meet genuinely intelligent people I engage them in conversation to see if I can learn new things. I suppose I don't have the time to get annoyed with the level of a person's intelligence. :)

btw, the fact that one is uneducated has nothing to do with whether or not he is stupid. similarly, the fact that you have an ivy league degree does not qualify you as smart.

hmm i know what u mean by arrogant intellectual but could u give an example? the only one i can think of was this mtv dating show, there was this geek who was paired up with a dumb blonde and they totally hated each other, basically she was like "why dont u go read a book then" and then later another guy shows up and he's like "well i guess ill leave you too, since im intellectually better and you two are made for each toher blah blah"

I think the problem with college is that it is largely a group of privileged people learning how to assume even more privilege.

I'm more annoyed by stupid people. They're always imposing on you and asking you stupid questions. At least its fun to make arrogant, smart people look stupid when they fuck up.

A lot of hardcore trekkies are ignorant, and believe they're like uber-smart because they've read the book "The Physics of Star Trek" and all that other crap. Then they think they're king of all educational domains, because they're an authority with their "futuristic" knowledge of time and space and all that other jazz.

Turns out they're just dumbasses who are way too into a show. :sleep:
